Updated: Turns out the deadline has been extended, looks like I’ll get to put some more work into this and get it to where I want it to be. Man I do love to be back in the design chair, I didn’t realize how much I missed it!

Why:

I spent some time today at work to begin a transformation from using Dreamweaver CS 4 to strictly being a VI/Vim user. The main reason I use Dreamweaver was for the auto completion feature in my CSS and HTML documents. My goal was to eliminate Dreamweaver since it is not portable between my Mac and my Windows machine due to Adobe’s BS Licensing.

How:

Here are a few things that I discovered that you will need to do, in order to get Omni Completion to work.

1. You must have a version of VI with +autocmd, so if your using VIM Tiny most likely you will not have the ability to use Omni Completion. I would recommend you get VIM Huge, which includes everything you need to get Omni to work.
2. You need to add some stuff to your .vimrc file: http://pastie.org/1184982(I’ve added a small script that adds to the the typical action for auto complete from CTRL+X, CTRL+O to a simple tab completion, then arrow keys to select the result you want.)

So if VIM with Omni Completion doesn’t quite work then you need to follow some of the tips above to get it where you want it to be.

A little bored with my calc 2 studies today. I plan to do quite a lot of calc 2 this sat. so I guess I’m just not looking forward to the weekend.

Mister Frodo and I have been planning out our Goblin characters for when cataclysm hits. Yes I intend to return to world of warcraft, I’m just waiting for the expantion pack.

So far I think its pretty much decided that Mister Frodo is going to be a female rogue. Where as I will be playing a male rogue. The names have yet to be decided, however we both agree that Raurizio is pretty sweet.
